ProSeries Alerts

ProSeries Professional


The Alerts feature provides a way for us to 'push' important, time-sensitive information to your ProSeries program. This feature does require Internet access. ProSeries will check for Alerts once an hour, and if a new Alert is available it will display on a yellow bar below the Help Toolbar.

New Alert

The toolbar will show you the number of new Alerts received and the date and time the latest Alert was issued (all Alerts are displayed in Pacific Time).

To read an Alert, click on the yellow bar or click the Alerts icon on the Toolbar.

Alert History

Once you read an Alert, the yellow bar will disappear. However, you can still access previously released Alerts by clicking on the Alerts icon or going to the Information menu and selecting View Alerts.

Alerts are computer specific regardless of whether you have a Stand Alone or a Network installation - i.e., each computer will receive and store its own Alerts. Since the Alert History is stored locally on the machine, you can still access the Alert history even if you lose internet connectivity.

Alerts displayed in your Alert History vary in background color depending on their age. A New Alert will show with a white background; Alerts that are no longer new display on a gray background.

Alerts cannot be deleted or cleared. If ProSeries has to be reinstalled, all previously received Alerts will be accessible after the reinstall is complete.
