ProSeries^® Bank Products

ProSeries Tax works with several bank product processors to facilitate bank products for our tax customers who wish to use them in their practices. Several types of bank products are supported which include: Refund Transfer Checks (RTs/ERCs), Refund Transfer Direct Deposits (RTDDs/ERDs) and Refund Transfer Direct Deposits to debit card. Bank product offerings vary by processor.

ProSeries software supports two bank product processors: Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG) and Refund Advantage.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG)

• Santa Barbara Tax Products Group processes Refund Transfer products through an agreement with University Bank, an affiliate of Sunrise Community Banks headquartered in Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN.
• ProSeries Professional and ProSeries Basic offer seamless integration with SBTPG for Refund Transfer products.
• Preparers interested in offering Refund Transfer products through SBTPG should apply for enrollment using the Options Setup Wizard in ProSeries. Enroll with SBTPG.

Refund Advantage

• Refund Advantage offers several bank products for Tax Year 2011, including Electronic Refund Checks and Deposits (ERCs and ERDs).
• The experience in ProSeries is streamlined with integration to make it easier to send returns to Refund Advantage.
• Refund Advantage software to print checks and run reports is provided separately and will be made available to you after acceptance into the bank products program.
• For Tax Year 2011, Refund Advantage will no longer offer a Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL).
  • Over the past year, various federal agencies have raised concerns related to RALs. These concerns prompted several large banking organizations to discontinue RAL products, and others to discontinue bank products altogether. Early this calendar year, the FDIC instructed all the remaining banks that offered RAL products, including Refund Advantage, to stop offering RALs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While Intuit ProSeries Tax products enable integration with SBTPG and Refund Advantage, it is important to note that the actual availability of bank products is subject to change without notice and not controlled by Intuit. Your firm must apply to and be accepted by a bank product processor before you can begin offering bank products. SBTPG and Refund Advantage will use their own specific eligibility requirements when reviewing applications.
